The Myoko area, one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan, is becoming increasingly popular among skiers from around the world for its abundant snow and its light, soft, powder-like.
Patience Capital Group (PCG), a real estate investment fund based in Tokyo and Singapore, is investing over 200 billion yen to redevelop the Myoko area. Hence, Myoko is expected to become one of the leading ski resorts in Japan in the coming years.
The area is also drawing attention from tourists and investors due to its rich natural environment, food products, hot springs, and other plentiful tourism resources.
From December 2022 to March 2023, Niigata Prefecture as a whole had 3,962,000 ski resort visitors, a 15% increase over the previous season, and Myoko City had 540,000, a 124.7% increase.
